Top Joint Studios pt.2

newbinksblog

I was again contacted by Top Joint Studios to handle a new set of business cards that would go with the launch of their upcoming mixtape. I spent a while working on all the different elements and feel it came together nicely.

Update

I haven’t uploaded any work in the past few weeks which will most likely change in the coming days. I finished up another logo for another organization however im still waiting on them to decide what changes if any they want made.

I’ve also been in the process of planning my website that will be fully completed and launched sometime between thanksgiving and Christmas, I’m still up in the air about keeping the name “Higher Level Design” or completely changing my “brand identity” to something else…you can see the first signs of this change in the new direction I’ve taken the top banner

Also along with work I do for other people I will start uploading a lot more of my own self motivated projects because ironically enough when school starts I’ll have more free time to do them seeing as how I wont be doing much freelance work.

Even as I type this im working on a few different projects so much much more work is soon to come

The JSA pt.2

emujsa.blogspot.com

Last night i finished up the last bit of work on a layout for the Japanese Students Association’s Blog. The engineering for the blog was headed up by myself and their webmaster Martin Myles and the overall design was handled by me. This layout in particular has been named “version 1.0″ with plans for further programming and design updates to be made in the future. They have been a really good group to work with and hopefully we can collaborate on more projects in the near future.

The BSMB

bsmbhld

I was approached a while ago (maybe sometime in September 08) about helping out with some of the graphics and other technical work for the Black Student Marching Band, an ambitious organization spearheaded by an associate of mine who’s main aim is to bring a show style band to Eastern Michigan University. Up until now the organization has mostly been in the planning and bureaucratic stages but as time goes more and more projects are begininng to get the green light. The task of branding the group with a visual identity was given to me. The was able to articulate their vision for what direction they wanted me to go in for the logo using words like “royal” and “seal”. The information i got from them helped inform my research and inspiration. This was a very rewarding project to work mainly because it grew from just a culmination of ideas and slowly and surely evolved into what it is now.

..They also asked me to be their webmaster and head the planning/dev/upkeep o their website which will be up very very soon ..its alot of work but its a honor to be apart of.

and that’s just one of few other huge projects that im involved with as the school year rapidly approaches…yay me

4eyestosee.blogspot.com

hldglobe

4eyestosee has been keeping me busy with a changed direction for their internet presence and a complete redesign of their logo. For this one in particular I worked very closely with them to achieve a final product that most closely matched their vision I also coded most of the stuff for the blog (the flash players, the theme etc). The challenges they present to me have really helped stretch me as a designer and as always I look forward to working with them some more. This is tip of the iceberg stuff though and some of the things we have got planned are really going to be great.

For eyes to see

To keep things fresh the myspace and logo of foreyestosee was called upon for a redesign and new direction. While at first I was against a logotype this one in particular has grown on me as I spent more time with it. The original design is the brainchild of kiontaz perryman(also a member of 4eyestosee) who came to me for feedback and “finishing”. This logo was designed with a new myspace layout in mind.

Also you’ll notice the addition of watermarks to everything that I upload from now on. More stuff soon.

The JSA

I was recently contacted by a good friend of mine to handle a logo for the Japanese student association at my school. I had always been interested in japanese culture and the reasearch I did during the design process was very rewarding. I drew my inspiration from the japanese flag and the lotus flower. My favorite part of this logo is the color versatility, it works very well with dar or vibrant colors. The JSA and I are now in talks about me handling a custom layout for their blog which I consider to a great honor and I feel would be equally rewarding.
